Aktive Tektonik

Bei der Erforschung aktiver Deformation der Erdoberfläche durch tektonische Vorgänge wird untersucht, welche strukturbildenden Prozesse für die Verformung der Landoberfläche verantwortlich sind und mit welchen Raten diese Prozesse ablaufen. Dazu werden geomorphologische Parameter im Gelände oder mit Methoden der Fernerkundung quantitativ erfasst und mit geologischen und/oder geophysikalischen Daten verknüpft.
